Help us Cool Down the backside of Interfaith Sanctuary

Interfaith Sanctuary is trying to cool down the backside of our property in order to help bring more cooling space to our unhoused population. The past two years we have had COVID emergency funding which allowed us to lease an indoor space to increase cooling capacity. This year that funding is no longer available but the need is greater than ever to provide cool spaces for our friends without homes to gather and receive support, hydration and cooling.

With some help from our wonderful Boise Community we have been offered some solutions that could greatly reduce the temperatures on the backside of Interfaith. We would like to purchase some astroturf to place over our very hot black asphalt and buy several misters and outdoor fans to help create a cooler and much more comfortable outdoor shelter space.

Cost for items we need to purchase:

Astroturf- $120 per 12X12 roll- 90X42 total square needed

Misters- $60 per forty feet- 288 feet coverage needed

Misting Fan- $300

Shade Sail- 20x20-$80
